TOXIC FOODS : NATIONS FIGHT BACK

MONSANTO HAS BEEN REMOVED AND BANNED BY:
AUSTRIA, GERMANY, BULGARIA, GREECE, HUNGARY, IRELAND, JAPAN, LUXEMBOURG, MADEIRA, NEW ZEALAND, PERU, SOUTH AUSTRALIA, AND SWITZERLAND.
WHILE RUSSIA HAD BANNED GMOs, IT REVERSED ON GMO CORN IN JANUARY OF THIS YEAR.
NATIONS WHO ALLOW AND EVEN ENCOURAGE GMOs ARE AMERICA, CANADA, CHINA, ENGLAND, MUCH OF THE EUROPEAN UNION, THE PHILIPPINES, SOUTH AFRICA, WITH FRANCE AND THAILAND SITTING ON THE FENCE, NOT DECIDED YET.
There have been extensive studies done by Michael Antoniou of Earth Open Source and Dr. Giles-Eric Seralini of the University of Caan in France which found that GMOs, which are inundated with pesticides like RoundUp Ready containing glyphosate and 2-4-D, the active ingredient in Agent Orange, create numerous health problems, including birth defects, cancer, neurological imbalances, embryonic deaths, DNA damage, and fetal death. It’s not rocket science to understand that when you eat a steady diet of these horrible chemicals, you will suffer disastrous health ramifications despite the fact that the GMO crops are designed to resist the heavy poisoning of the pesticides and herbicides.
OF ALL NATIONS WHICH HAVE EXPERIENCED THE HORRORS OF GENETICALLY MODIFIED FOODS, GERMANY PERHAPS RANKS NUMBER ONE IN FIGHTING BACK, BUT OTHER NATIONS HAVE BEGUN TO TAKE A STAND!

GERMANY IS LIVING PROOF THAT MONSANTO AND ALL OTHER GM CORPORATIONS CAN BE BEATEN! ALL IT TAKES IS THE PEOPLE SPEAKING OUT AND DEMANDING NO GMOs!

~ ABSOLUTELY NO GMO CROPS TOLERATED IN GERMANY
Germany’s consumer minister has vowed to fight European moves to relax its current zero-tolerance stance towards genetically modified food.
Currently, all food containing plant matter faces rigorous testing to make sure there is nothing that has been genetically modified – before it enters Germany.
But the European Commission wants to change the rules so that food with traces of genetically modified ingredients would be allowed through, and could crop up in German shops, the Süddeutsche Zeitung newspaper reported in June, 2012..
In 2011 the zero-tolerance policy was expanded to include animal feed, but a lobby group for the animal feed sector has warned that if it too is not relaxed, farmers could face problems giving their stock enough food.
THAT'S A LIE, SO STAND FIRM, GERMANY!

~ THE GREAT MEXICAN MAIZE MASSACRE
Agribusiness giants Monsanto, DuPont and Dow are plotting the boldest coup of a global food crop in history. If their requests to allow a massive commercial planting of genetically modified maize are approved in the next two weeks by the government of outgoing president Felipe Calderón, this parting gift to the gene giants will amount to a knife in the heart of the center of origin and diversity for maize. The consequences will be grave – and global. With the approvals and December planting deadlines looming, social movements and civil society organizations have called for an end to all GM maize in Mexico. Mexico’s Union of Concerned Scientists (UCCS) has called on the Mexican government to stop the processing of any application for open-field release of GM maize in Mexico.
BRAVO, MEXICO!

~ OUTRAGE IN NIGERIA OVER GENE GIANTS FOOD CROPS COUP
Around 1,000 environmental rights activists, lawyers, scholars, community-based organizations and women groups in Nigeria, at a forum hosted by the country’s foremost environmental rights advocacy group, Environmental Rights Action (ERA) in Lagos, were outraged by the ongoing moves to wipe out some of the world’s major food crops.
The outrage came as the Executive Director of ERA, Nnimmo Bassey, announced that agribusiness giants Monsanto, DuPont and Dow are plotting the boldest coup of a global food crop in history.

~ INDIA BANNED Bt BRINJAL, BUT MORE NEEDS TO BE DONE
Indian consumers do not directly consume GM food as the government has not allowed such crops after Bt Brinjal debacle. The Parliamentary Committee on Agriculture on 9 August 2012 asked the Government to stop all field trials and sought a ban on GM food crops like Bt brinjal. It also sought a “thorough probe” as to how permission was given to commercialise Bt brinjal seed when all evaluation tests were not carried out. The report of the Committee was tabled a day after Maharashtra Government cancelled Mahyco’s license to sell its Bt cotton seeds. But as Bt Cotton is present in the country, consumers are passively eating GM food through milk of an animal fed cottonseed meals and food cooked in cottonseed oil. Bt Cotton is not totally pesticide or insecticide-free. All mammals are indirectly vulnerable due to the pesticides used in cotton farming, say scientists.
In order to buy GM seeds, some Indian farmers get into unmanageable debt. Others are crippled by fluctuations in food prices. And when the going gets too tough some decide the only way out is to take their own lives. The high rate of farmer suicides drew international attention and has raised awareness worldwide of the dangers of choosing GMO seeds and crops.
There were 19,000 suicides in 2010.

~HUNGARY DESTROYED GMO CROPS
Hungary has taken a bold stand against biotech giant Monsanto and genetic modification by destroying 1000 acres of maize found to have been grown with genetically modified seeds, according to Hungary deputy state secretary of the Ministry of Rural Development Lajos Bognar.
WELL DONE, HUNGARY!
~BRAVE PERU HAS PASSED A 10-YEAR BAN ON GM FOODS.
In a massive blow to multinational agribiz corporations such as  Monsanto, Bayer, and Dow, Peru has officially passed a law banning genetically modified ingredients anywhere within the country for a full decade before coming up for another review.  Peru’s Plenary Session of the Congress made the decision 3 years after the decree was written despite previous governmental pushes for GM legalization due largely to the pressure from farmers that together form the Parque de la Papa in Cusco, a farming community of 6,000 people that represent six communities. They worry the introduction of genetically modified organisms (GMOs) will compromise the native species of Peru, such as the giant white corn, purple corn and, of course, the famous species of Peruvian potatoes. Anibal Huerta, President of Peru’s Agrarian Commission, said the ban was needed to prevent the ”danger that can arise from the use of biotechnology.”
ANOTHER VICTORY!

~SWITZERLAND, IN 2005, BY VOTE, BANNED GMO CROPS
Swiss voters supported a five year-ban on the farming of genetically modified crops, offering a further sign of widespread distrust in Europe of scientifically enhanced foods.
"The vote reflects the view across the E.U., not just Switzerland," said Adrian Bebb, an expert on the issue at Friends of the Earth, an advocacy group. "The public doesn't want to eat genetically modified food."
NO ONE WHO HAS BEEN EDUCATED ABOUT GMO FOODS WANT TO EAT THEM!
HATS OFF TO THE SWISS PEOPLE!

DO YOU SEE THAT GIANTS LIKE MONSANTO, DOW, AND DUPONT CAN BE DEFEATED? IT JUST TAKES PEOPLE STANDING TOGETHER IN LARGE NUMBERS TO FORCE GOVERNMENTS TO LISTEN TO THEM AND TAKE ACTION.
SILENCE AND INACTION CAUSE GOVERNMENTS TO IGNORE THEIR PEOPLE.

HERE IS A LIST OF KNOWN GMO FOOD SOURCES...PLEASE BOYCOTT THESE MANUFACTURERS TO SEND THE MESSAGE THAT WE HAVE NO INTENTION OF CONSUMING TOXIC FOODS! A LARGER IMAGE CAN BE FOUND HERE: http://rasica.files.wordpress.com/2013/03/46880_534219483283005_2038529074_n.jpg?w=588
